Broaven Slab Serif Font for Bold Brand Campaigns

It was 3:45 PM, and I was finalizing the last details of a product launch graphic for a new line of high-performance gaming gear. The client wanted something that screamed energy, speed, and tech-forward design. I had just installed Broaven, a bold expanded slab serif font, and immediately knew it fit the mood.

Broaven is more than just a typeface—it's a visual statement. With its thick, muscular strokes and wide proportions, it carries a sense of authority and confidence. It’s the kind of font that makes you pause, not because it’s hard to read, but because it commands attention. Perfect for branding that needs to stand out in fast-scrolling feeds or digital ads.

Broaven in Action: A Real Campaign Example

I used Broaven for the headline “Unleash Your Power” on the main hero banner of the campaign. The font’s weight and spacing gave the text a strong presence, making the message clear even at a glance. On mobile previews, the text remained legible without distortion, which was crucial for maintaining brand recognition across devices.

For Instagram posts promoting the same product, I paired Broaven with a clean sans serif font like Helvetica Neue for body copy. This contrast helped separate the headline from supporting information, creating a visual hierarchy that guided the viewer’s eye naturally through the content.

In YouTube thumbnails, I used Broaven for short taglines like “Speed Redefined” and “Next-Gen Performance.” The font’s boldness made these phrases pop against vibrant background images, increasing the chances of catching a viewer’s attention in a crowded feed.

Broaven Across Campaign Channels

Beyond social media, Broaven has proven itself versatile in other campaign formats. For a webinar banner about “Gaming Tech Trends,” I applied Broaven to the title, and the result felt dynamic and modern. It didn’t feel outdated or overly formal, which was exactly what the brand needed to attract a younger, tech-savvy audience.

Email banners using Broaven also performed well. The font’s readability on light backgrounds ensured that key messages were delivered clearly, even when viewed on smaller screens. In Pinterest campaigns, Broaven worked well for pin titles and callout graphics, adding a touch of boldness that aligned with the platform’s visual style.

However, Broaven isn’t ideal for every situation. It shines best in display text, headlines, and logo-style applications rather than long paragraphs or dense informational content. Using it for small text sizes or in situations requiring a more formal tone could risk losing clarity or misrepresenting the brand’s voice.

Designing with Broaven: Tips and Pairings

When working with Broaven, I recommend testing it with different weights and styles to see how it behaves in various contexts. The expanded slab serif format gives it a unique character, but pairing it with a complementary font can enhance its impact.

A great pairing is a modern sans serif like Montserrat or Lato for body text. This combination balances Broaven’s boldness with a more approachable, readable base. For a more creative look, a script or handwritten font can add personality to subheadings or decorative elements.

Before using Broaven in any commercial project, it’s important to check the licensing agreement, especially if the font will be used in digital ads, merchandise, or branded templates. Confirming support for multilingual characters and ensuring access to all necessary file formats (like OTF or TTF) is also essential for seamless integration into design workflows.

Broaven’s versatility extends to web design as well. As a header font, it adds a strong visual anchor to landing pages and website banners. Its ability to maintain legibility across screen sizes makes it a reliable choice for responsive design systems.

Whether you're launching a product, running a seasonal sale, or building an editorial series, Broaven brings a distinct energy to your visuals. It’s a font that doesn’t just look good—it communicates a message, reinforces brand identity, and helps your content stand out in a sea of competition.
